Steven Fletcher took his impressive haul in the English Premier League to 10 goals by scoring twice in Sunderland's 3-2 win at struggling Wigan on Saturday, dumping the home side into the relegation zone.

The Scotland striker completed Sunderland's comeback after the visitors fell behind in the fourth minute when David Vaughan bundled in a soft own goal at DW Stadium.

Craig Gardner converted a penalty for the equalizer in the 17th before Fletcher took over, scoring at the second attempt to make it 2-1 in the 20th and then curling home a top-class finish just inside the area three minutes before halftime.

Angelo Henriquez, on loan from Manchester United, gave Wigan hope of a point in the 79th but Sunderland held on to move up to 11th in the standings.
