Rovers put the home side to the sword at Molineux as three goals in the opening 45 minutes had the Lancashire side in full control of the contest. Jason Roberts, Brett Emerton and Junior Hoilett were all on target as Blackburn threatened to run riot in the Black Country. Wolves managed to stem the tide and, while Jamie O'Hara and Stephen Hunt pulled goals back, it was not enough to prevent Rovers from winning the points. Kean, who has come under fire from some sections of fans this term, was delighted his game plan worked and that the fans have another year of top-flight football on the cards. "I think the first-half display was probably the best 45 minutes of the season and we've left it until the last game," said Kean. "I thought we were exceptional. Probably a little bit unfortunate not to go four-up. "At half-time we know that Wolves are in the bottom three due to goal difference. We knew they would be dangerous as they would throw caution to the wind. "I thought the way that we went after them in the first half was tremendous. We were quite bold in playing with two up in Hoilett and Roberts. "I think the first half was comfortable because we had the cushion of the goals. I don't know if Wolves dropping into the bottom three at half-time was a great thing for us. "We were quite on the front foot from the first minute. We didn't want Wolves to settle. "In the last nine games we've managed to set seven positive results. We're unbeaten in the last four. "I'm delighted for the owners and the 3,000 fans that have travelled today. To send them away on their holidays with a fantastic win." Kean's attention has immediately turned to next season and Rovers' manager is looking forward to spending Venkys' investment wisely. The Scot has already held talks and believes keeping the likes of on-loan midfielder Jermaine Jones will go a long way to ensuring a successful 2011/12 campaign. "It's massive because of the financial implications of dropping down a division are horrific," he continued. "I had a positive meeting with the owners on Sunday evening. They've got significant investment and want to take the club forward. "We've got a good solid group, but we need to strengthen in certain areas and not to replace anybody. "We've had a lack of goals so I'd like to address that at the top end of the pitch. "If we can keep guys like Jermaine Jones, who we've got on loan, it's going to be an exciting time for the club."
