According to multiple reports from the Italian capital, Real Madrid has agreed to send Argentine international Fernando Gago to Roma on a one-year loan.
Gago provides Roma’s manager, Luis Enrique, with the additional depth needed for the Serie A side to battle for the Scudetto this season.
The 25-year old Argentine, who was linked to various clubs in Europe this summer, joined Real Madrid from Boca Juniors in 2007. Since Jose Mourinho’s arrival to El Bernabeu, Gago has struggled to secure a spot in first team action and actively searched for opportunities outside Madrid.
Gago’s transfer to Roma could be made permanent, as Roma has the option to buy the ‘Xeneizes son’ for €6 million next summer.
