Turkey's Football Federation has rejected league champion Fenerbahce's request to be relegated from the Turkish top division due to a match-fixing scandal.

The federation said Saturday the top league would ''be played as previously scheduled.''

Fenerbahce asked to be relegated Friday, two days after the federation decided to remove the club from the Champions League because of UEFA's zero-tolerance policy toward match-fixing.

More than 30 people, including Fenerbahce President Aziz Yildirim, have been arrested in the ongoing match-fixing investigation that allegedly involves 19 games last season.
