Hundreds of FC Sion fans have protested in their home town against its treatment by FIFA, UEFA and Switzerland's Football Association during a three-year legal dispute.

Supporters jeered the mention of Sepp Blatter's name and displayed posters comparing the FIFA president, who comes from nearby Visp, to a Mafia godfather.

Swiss media reports that Sion coach Laurent Roussey and players Goran Obradovic and Geoffroy Serey Die joined the rally.

Under threat of a FIFA suspension, the Swiss FA deducted 36 league points from Sion last month for fielding six ineligible players who were signed during a transfer embargo. Sion is appealing the punishment.
