FC Nuremberg has fired coach Michael Oenning after a dismal run of
form that left the club in 17th place in the 18-team Bundesliga.
Nuremberg announced the dismissal Monday, two days after
losing to FC Cologne 3-0 - the team's fourth straight game without
scoring a goal.
Oenning was hired in August 2008 and won promotion with the
Bavarian club last season. However, Nuremberg went into the winter
break with only 12 points from 17 games.
There was no immediate word on a replacement.
