Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas is ready to play in Wednesday's World Cup semifinal match against Germany despite continuing pain in his shoulder.
Fabregas told Spanish media he may need a painkilling injection into his shoulder so he can be available for the semifinal at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Fabregas told the Spanish sports daily Sport that the sore shoulder was "painful" but he is "ready to get an injection in order to play."
Fabregas stopped practice early Sunday as a precaution after hurting his shoulder in Spain's 1-0 quarterfinal win over Paraguay. Fabregas replaced Fernando Torres after 56 minutes.
