Everton has signed striker Joao Silva from second division Portuguese club Desportivo Das Aves on a three-year deal.
The Premier League club did not disclose the transfer fee on Wednesday for the 20-year-old forward, who has played for Portugal at youth level.
Everton says its officials flew to Portugal this week to seal the deal. He will join his new teammates in early July when the squad meets before a pre-season trip to Australia.
