Fulham and Everton coasted into the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday, but Premier League rival Newcastle faced a tough battle to beat lowly opposition.
Newcastle beat League Two side Accrington 3-2, whereas Fulham won 6-0 over Port Vale and Everton thrashed Huddersfield 5-1.
