The 2-1 triumph at the Britannia Stadium, which ended Spurs' 11-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, was overshadowed by referee Chris Foy's performance. Not for the first time, City also came under fire for their brand of football, with Etherington's second goal of his match-winning brace coming from a long throw. Speaking to The Sentinel, Etherington said: "We play a certain way at times and it works for us. "But look at the game on Sunday. There were times when we got the ball on the floor, but people don't notice that. "We have good players. We wouldn't do what we are doing without good players.
