Football great Alfredo Di Stefano will spend a few days in a hospital in eastern Spain for a routine check-up of his heart condition.
The Argentine-born former Real Madrid forward and current honorary president of the club was admitted Tuesday to Valencia's La Fe hospital where in 2005 he received a pacemaker after suffering a myocardial infarction.
The hospital says in a statement that the 86-year-old Di Stefano ''is in good condition, but must undergo regular tests to monitor his heart condition.''
Dubbed ''La Saeta Rubia'' - ''The Blond Arrow'' - for his speed, Di Stefano was arguably the best player of his generation, starring for Real Madrid between 1953-64 and leading the club to five straight European Cups.
