Former France international Marcel Desailly says he has withdrawn his application for the Ghana coaching job because the country's football association has failed to contact him.

Desailly said he had ''not heard anything, nothing official'' since showing an interest in the position three months ago.

The Ghana Football Association said last month it planned to interview the 42-year-old Desailly along with four other shortlisted candidates: Serb Goran Stevanovic, former Portugal, Morocco and Tunisia manager Humberto Coelho, ex-Ghana international Herbert Addo and Can Vanli, a former Turkey national team assistant.

Addo told The Associated Press he will be interviewed on Dec. 16 or 17 and said he is ''very confident'' about his chances of replacing Milovan Rajevac, who quit the job in September.
