Morten Rasmussen and Kasper Lorentzen scored second-half goals Tuesday to give Denmark a 2-0 win over Cyprus in a European Championship qualifying match.

Rasmussen opened the scoring with a header two minutes into the second half. Lorentzen doubled the lead in the 80th with a hard shot.

Denmark had the majority of possession and carved out several chances, but failed to find the net due to a mixture of bad luck and a compact Cyprus defense.

The win gives Denmark six points in Group H after three qualifying matches, while Cyprus has one point.

''I am satisfied with the win,'' Denmark coach Morten Olsen said.

The Danes had a several chances to score during the first 45 minutes, as Daniel Agger, Nicklas Pedersen, Dennis Rommedahl and Michael Krohn-Dehli all went close.

The second half continued in much the same way, with Denmark continuing to keep Cyprus penned back in its own half.

Chances for the visitors were rare, but Michalis Konstantinou missed a good opportunity in the second half when Denmark lost possession.
