The Cottagers were on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline at Blackburn last time out at Ewood Park but welcome the in-form Magpies to south-west London on Saturday.
"Every game is a big game and it's always difficult to get results away from home," said the United States international.
"As soon as you do get results on the road you're flying, but if you don't, it puts a little bit more pressure on you to get the job done at home. Hopefully we can get that done on Saturday.
"We need as many points as we can and hopefully we'll move back up the table if we can get a good result against Newcastle.

"They're a good team and they're doing really well. They've got some players missing and hopefully we can take advantage of that on Saturday."
