Dalglish happy with Reds start

The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Sunderland in their opening game of the campaign, but have since beaten Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium and won 3-1 at Exeter in the second round of the Carling Cup. Dalglish - who invested heavily in new players over the summer and looks set to make further additions to his squad before the transfer deadline next week - is pleased with what he has seen so far. "I suppose everybody is always looking for a little bit more, but we're happy with what we've got," Dalglish said. "We've been absolutely delighted with - but not surprised by - the way the players have gone about their work in training and in games and we're happy with the way they've started the season." Somebody who has certainly hit the ground running is Luis Suarez. The striker returned late to pre-season training with the Reds having been involved in the Copa America with Uruguay, who were crowned champions after defeating Paraguay in the final. The competition was also a personal success for Suarez as he scored four times and came away with the most valuable player award. Dalglish has admitted he will need to "look after" the former Ajax frontman this term to ensure Liverpool get the best out of him. But with the 24-year-old - recruited in January - already matching his tally for the Merseyside outfit from last season by netting his third goal in as many games in the victory over Exeter, it seems his form has simply carried through from his exploits with his country. Asked if he had expected it to take longer for Suarez to get up to speed again, Dalglish said: "Not particularly. He was on a high when he came back from the Copa America - he was voted player of the tournament and his team won it. "He is always going to score goals and three in three is certainly a reasonable return from him." Reports have suggested Dalglish may soon be bringing another Uruguay international to Liverpool. Suarez's compatriot Sebastian Coates - a 20-year-old defender - is thought to be close to completing a transfer from Nacional, although Dalglish would not be drawn on the matter at his pre-match press conference on Thursday. There is also talk of the Reds being interested in re-signing Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy, while in terms of outgoing personnel, Alberto Aquilani is to return to Italy with AC Milan for the rest of the season after an agreement was reached - subject to a medical - for him to make the loan move from Anfield.
