Crouch scores two in Spurs' 3-2 win over Stoke
Peter Crouch put his midweek red card behind him with two goals to lead Tottenham to a 3-2 win over Stoke, the club's first Premier League win in six games.
Crouch was sent off after 14 minutes of Tottenham's 4-0 loss at Real Madrid in the Champions League. He needed 11 minutes to open the scoring against Stoke, heading in Roman Pavlyuchenko's cross to start a flurry of first-half goals.
Pavlyuchenko also set up the second for Luka Modric in the 18th but Matthew Etherington pulled one back in the 27th after a superb run.
Crouch restored the two-goal lead with another header, and though Kenwyne Jones reduced the deficit before halftime, Stoke couldn't find an equalizer in the second half.
Tottenham moved to within three points of Manchester City in fourth.
