The injunction to block the appointments was brought by Johan Cruyff against his four fellow supervisory board members Steven ten Have, Edgar Davids, Marjan Olfers and Paul Romer, who took the decision. Former Holland international Cruyff argued the appointments, which were made without his knowledge and also opposed by 10 youth coaches at the club, went against plans to reshape Ajax's youth policy. The decision to appoint Van Gaal and Sturkenboom will now be put the club's shareholders. Ajax said in a statement they will study the decision before commenting.
