Campeonato leaders Corinthians were on the wrong end of a suprise 2-0 home defeat to Figueirense on Sunday.
Wellington scored first in the 34th minute, with Wilson Pittoni snatching a
second in the last minute.
It was not enough to topple Corinthians from top spot but they can now be
caught by Flamengo if they win their game in hand.
Botafogo defeated struggling Atletico Mineiro 3-1.
Elkeson opened the scoring after 16 minutes and Felipe Menezes scored either side of half-time before a late consolation from Andre De Souza.
Walter Montillo's 71st-minute penalty was the only goal as Cruzeiro edged
visiting Ceara.
