Cologne says striker Adil Chihi needs surgery after sustaining a serious knee injury during Saturday's 5-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga side says on its website that Chihi tore a cruciate ligament in his left knee and will undergo an operation in the ''coming days.''
The 23-year-old Chihi went off in the 58th minute of Saturday's game.
Chihi is likely to be ruled out for around six months.
