Chelsea set to give John Terry time off
John Terry has been ruled out of Chelsea's Premier League game at Swansea in the week the court case begins into allegations he racially abused Anton Ferdinand.
Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas announced Terry would not travel to the Liberty Stadium after aggravating an injury to his right knee first suffered in this month's FA Cup win over Portsmouth.
Villas-Boas also addressed the Terry's performance against QPR over the weekend, where the England captain helped the London based club advance in the FA Cup.
"He is a player that has been through various situations, situations of stress and great, difficult atmospheres," he added. "Bearing in mind the events that have happened in the past, he showed that this was just another game for him and he was just interested in football. He had an extremely good performance."
The Swansea match takes place less than 24 hours before proceedings begin at Westminster Magistrates Court over whether Terry used a racist slur against QPR defender Ferdinand back in October, a charge he denies
