Bristol City have agreed a fee with Kilmarnock to bring in midfielder Liam Kelly for an undisclosed fee, while a bid has been made to Crawley for defender Kyle McFadzean.
The Robins aim to complete the deal for the 22-year-old Scotland international in time for their clash with Leicester on Saturday.
Kelly, born in Milton Keynes, has scored six goals in his last nine Scottish Premier League appearances and has played over 100 times for the club since joining in 2010.
"We've agreed a fee for Liam Kelly and we now need to try and push it over the line," McInnes told the Bristol Evening Post on Thursday.
"We have to get the boy down here, do a medical and try and get international clearance pushed through.
"If he can train with us, then he can go into the squad for Saturday. Whether it can be done remains to be seen, but it is a real possibility."
Meanwhile City have confirmed they have lodged a bid for Crawley defender McFadzean.
"We've bid for him and that's as far as it's gone," McInnes told the club's official website. "It's a complicated one and we'll have to see how it pans out."
Elsewhere, the postponed Championship clash with Watford has been rearranged for Tuesday January 29, kick-off 7.45pm at Ashton Gate.
The game was originally due to be played on Boxing Day but was postponed before a ball had been kicked due to a torrential downpour, which left the Ashton Gate pitch waterlogged.
The 23-year-old, who initially joined Dale on loan in November, has penned a contract running until the end of the season at Spotland.
Gornell's loan spell, which produced a return of five goals in eight games, expired following last weekend's 1-0 home defeat to AFC Wimbledon but the former Accrington man is now available for the trip to Dagenham this weekend.
The Baggies have rejected a bid believed to be in the region of ?5m from QPR for the defender and Clarke says any further attempts to sign the player will be met with a similar response.
With West Brom seventh in the Premier League and on course for a fine season, Clarke is naturally keen to retain the services of his key players.
However, the manager did admit that there is a buy-out clause in Olsson's contract which could be activated by one of six clubs this summer.
Reports have suggested that Olsson is keen to be based in London for family reasons but Clarke said: "I can confirm a bid has been turned down and I don't encourage any more bids, because Jonas is not for sale.
"I have spoken to Jonas and he says he is loving the football here, he is enjoying the position we are in, and he is looking forward to the rest of the season.
"He will remain a West Brom player and we don't have to sell anyone. He is not for sale, so there is no figure which is reasonable.
"There is a clause in Jonas' contract which comes into play during the summer. There are six clubs that can invoke that."
There are six London-based clubs presently playing in the Premier League: Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Fulham, West Ham and QPR.
The 19-year-old has made five first-team appearances since returning from a loan spell with Evo Stik Premier Division side Marine earlier this season, and will now remain at the Crown Ground until summer 2014.
"I'm just glad that I've shown to the gaffer that I'm worth another shot," Carver said in a Stanley club statement. "I've had a couple of chances since I came back off loan and I'm looking for more.
"I've got a full game under my belt, a 45 minutes and a few more minutes here and there but I just want to get into the first team every game and get as much playing time as possible."
