The Reds boosted their hopes of claiming a European spot with a 3-0 win over Manchester City on Monday night. The win lifted Liverpool to within five points of fifth-placed Tottenham and Carroll believes they can catch the North London outfit. "Obviously it's at the back of everybody's minds," Carroll told the Daily Post. "Everyone wants to be in that fifth position and everyone knows that we are capable of doing it. "We've just got to work hard and try to make sure we get three points every week and hopefully Tottenham will have a slip up. "I think every player wants to play in Europe and coming to a club like Liverpool it's expected. All the other lads want to be in Europe as much as me. "All we can do is work as hard as we can to make sure we get there." ConfidentLiverpool face Arsenal this weekend, live on Sky Sports, and Carroll, who scored his first two goals for the club against City, believes they can come away from Emirates Stadium with all three points. "We need to work hard to close them down and make sure that we don't give them space or time on the ball," said Carroll. "We know what a good side Arsenal are and what they can do if you allow them to do that. "There's no reason why Liverpool can't win there and all the lads are confident that we can beat Arsenal.
