Brown lauds card for celebrating in Diouf's face

Celtic captain Scott Brown calls the yellow card he received for celebrating a goal in the face of Rangers forward El-Hadji Diouf ''the best booking I've had in my life.''

Brown scored 10-man Celtic's second equalizer in Sunday's 2-2 draw against its fiercest rival. After curling in a left-foot shot from the edge of the area, the midfielder turned to Diouf and raised his arms aloft - staring into his opponent's eyes just inches away.

Brown was booked by the referee but said he was only responding to goading by Diouf throughout the match.

''He wanted to drag me into a battle and I was quite happy to oblige him,'' Brown said. ''I think I came out of it on top and he knows it.

''I don't want to go into detail about what he said about my family. It was crude and it was vulgar but that's up to him. Yes, I did respond to him but what did he expect?''

Brown told Tuesday's edition of Scotland's Daily Record newspaper he had no regrets over his conduct.

''The celebration was brilliant and I don't regret it in the slightest,'' Brown said. ''It was the best booking I've had in my life.''

The teams will replay the Scottish Cup fifth-round match at Celtic Park on March 3.
