Jerome Ramatlhakwane's first-half goal gave Botswana a 1-0 win over Tunisia on Wednesday to move six points clear in Group K of qualifying for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ramatlhakwane struck in the 33rd minute after goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi had failed to hold a shot by Dipsy Selolwane, sending the capacity 8,000-strong crowd into raptures at University of Botswana Stadium.
Ramatlhakwane, who has scored four goals in qualifying, says ''we knew that Tunisia would be attack-minded and we had to pack our midfield and defense and counterattack.''
Botswana has 13 points. Tunisia is second with seven.
Botswana Football Association President David Fani says the win ''has put us in a good position for qualification.''
