Bayern Munich midfielder Luiz Gustavo has undergone surgery on his groin and is out of action for the foreseeable future.
The club says the Brazilian didn't travel to Spain for Tuesday's Champions League match against Valencia.
Officials couldn't immediately say how long he would be out of action.
