Despite featuring prominently in Newcastle's opening two Premier League fixtures, the club are determined to lose ties with him after he criticised the their transfer policies via his Twitter account. And he has since revealed on the social networking site: "Going for a medical now, still no contract offer from NUFC...think that just about makes my mind up." He added: "Don't want to leave Newcastle........I've made that clear but my hands are tied."
