Julio Baptista is hoping to make his comeback soon for Malaga after being out since July following surgery on his damaged Achilles.

The former Arsenal man missed the majority of last season with Achilles problems and his post-season operation has kept him on the sidelines since then.

Baptista, 31, has proven to be a key player for Malaga since his switch from Roma and his return will be a welcome boost to the Primera Liga side, who currently sit fifth in their domestic league.

The Brazilian forward is hoping he will be fit enough in time to make his return in the Copa del Rey round of 32, against lower league opposition Cacereno.

"I am looking to return at the end of November or the beginning of December," Baptista explained.

"I hope I can be ready to play against Cacereno [in the Copa del Rey on November 28] because that is still a long way off and I cannot wait to start playing again and to have my normal life back.

"It has been almost four months of recuperation since the operation and we are more or less where the doctors said we would be.

"I am training and doing all of the activities asked of me. To be able to play I will need to have a few more training sessions with the squad.

"After so much time out I will need to improve my level to be ready for official games, but I am doing all I can for my comeback."
