Azerbaijan held Israel to a 1-1 draw in their World Cup Group F qualifying opener on Friday.
Bebras Natcho hit the target from 35 meters (yards) to give Israel the lead in the 35th minute. But Ruslan Abishov curled in a left-footed shot to equalize 14 minutes later.
Dudu Aouate made a save in injury time, parrying Vagif Javadov's shot from close range over the crossbar.
On Tuesday, Israel hosts Russia while Azerbaijan travels to Portugal. Luxembourg and Northern Ireland are also in the group.
