Atletico Madrid insists Spanish midfielder Koke is not for sale
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has insisted that midfielder Koke is not for sale this summer.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderon following an impressive season with Los Rojiblancos.
The Spain international played a key role in Diego Simeone's side, winning La Liga and reaching the UEFA Champions League final.
Barcelona are reported to be keen on signing Koke in order to replace Cesc Fabregas, who has been linked with a return to the Premier League.
However, Cerezo claims that the youngster is not for sale at any cost this summer.
"He is our player and he will continue with us," he told Foro Nuevo Murcia. "They know that very well.
"We are not a selling club. We are a stable club. And I insist: Koke wants to play for Atletico, he is our franchise player and will continue to be a Rojiblanco. There's nothing else to add."
Cerezo has also assured the Atletico fans that centre-backs Miranda and Diego Godin will not be sold, but has admitted that left-back Filipe Luis could leave if the right offer comes in.
"It's very hard today to find a defensive pairing like Miranda and Godin, almost impossible," he said. "I believe that, as with Koke, they will continue here.
"If you have to leave and you want to go, I refer you to the clause. (Guilherme) Siqueira has been spoken about as a possible substitute.
"Siqueira is a good player. If someone goes, we will try to bring in someone better."
