Police say a footballer with second-tier club Southampton has been seriously injured in an assault outside a nightclub.
Defender Dan Seaborne was found lying on the ground with head injuries in the early hours of Friday in Southampton on the south coast of England.
Hampshire police say the 24-year-old Seaborne was taken to Southampton General Hospital ''where his condition is described as serious.''
Two men aged 35 and 29 have been arrested as police try to establish the circumstances leading to the attack.
