Rangers have been drawn away to Albion Rovers in the first round of next season's Ramsdens Cup.

Ally McCoist's side will begin their campaign at Cliftonhill on July 27 after they were paired with Rovers in the competition's South/West section.

Rangers were beaten in the quarter-finals last season by eventual winners Queen of the South, who open up the defence of their trophy at home to Spartans or Threave Rovers.

Dundee, relegated from last season's Scottish Premier League, are away at Alloa in the North/East section.

Ardley has already made four additions to his squad with Ross Worner, Ashley Bayes, Charlie Sheringham and George Francomb arriving.

Ardley admitted last week the club are pursuing a deal for former Gillingham captain Andy Frampton and has hinted there could be further deals to be done.

"Things are getting there now," he told the Epsom Guardian.

"These things take time and I never felt at any point like it was going away from us, so absolutely chuffed with the way it has been going.

"Hopefully there will be more soon. We are working incredibly hard on it but as always there are deals you feel you are getting down the line on and then they don't come off, so who knows?

"But we hope by the end of the week we will have some more."
