Albania without stars for Argentina game
Albania coach Josip Kuze will take an under-strength side for an international friendly Monday against Argentina.
Monday's match is Argentina's last warm-up ahead of the Copa America, which it will host from July 1.
Kuze had only 10 regular national players available for a training camp in the country, and five others will join them on the trip to Buenos Aires. Only five of the 18 players have seen regular playing time in Albania's European championship qualifying campaign.
In total, 11 regular national team players originally called up by Kuze were not available.
Albania's top forward Hamdi Salihi was refused permission to play by his Austrian club Rapid Wien, while central defender Lorik Cana is in discussions with prospective teams as he looks to leave Turkey's Galatasaray.
A spokesman of the Albanian Football Federation declined to comment on the telephone Friday.
Kuze, who considers this match ''historical,'' is looking for a strong defense against Argentina's top players like Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez.
