Emmanuel Adebayor is hoping his two goals in Real Madrid's 4-0 win over Tottenham in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal will help earn him a long-term deal.

Adebayor headed home in each half to give Madrid a 2-0 lead at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Tuesday.

The Togo striker, who is on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season and who has scored five goals in 13 appearances, says: ''I still got one or two months until the end of the season and then I will decide what to do - but of course I want to stay.''

Madrid acquired Adebayor with Gonzalo Higuain out through injury and Karim Benzema struggling. Higuain has returned while Benzema has hit form before getting injured.
