Abel Taarabt quits Morocco, international soccer
QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt has quit international football at the age of 22 after a row with Morocco boss Eric Gerets.
Taarabt stormed out of the country's training camp after learning he was not starting their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against neighbours Algeria.
The Hoops captain has vowed to quit international football for good even if Gerets is no longer the coach.
"I'm currently in Marseille. I decided to leave the training camp when I learned that I wouldn't start against Algeria," Taarabt said.
"I prefer to never again play for the national team, with or without Eric Gerets.
"I'd rather represent my country through my club. I apologize to our supporters. The national team is finished for me. Every time it's the same story.
"I prefer to no longer argue with coaches or the federation and enjoy my vacation."
