Young Badgers Tracker: Shaw gets lengthy taste of Big Ten action

It's time for another look at the playing time and statistics of the younger players on the roster of the Wisconsin Badgers.

Last week we mentioned how redshirt freshman running back Bradrick Shaw hasn't gotten many opportunities lately, but he's made the most of those he's had.

So, of course, right on cue Shaw was given 11 carries against Northwestern after having just four combined rushes in Big Ten play leading up to the game. Shaw gained 54 yards, including one for 25 yards, which was the longest rush by a Badgers running back against the Wildcats.

With the softer part of Wisconsin's schedule upcoming, perhaps this means Shaw will get even more carries. Of his 39 rushes, 12 (30.7 percent) have resulted in a first down and six (15.3 percent) have been for 10 yards or more.
