Year of the DB: Rhedi Short - Cathedral HS
Receivers running through the Cathedral secondary better beware, Rhedi Short is lurking.
Short is the subject of our latest 'Year of the Defensive Back' series.
A 6-foot-1, bruising safety, Short is the No. 3 ranked safety in California according to Scout.com and he has one goal in mind this season: a CIF Championship.
Verbally committed to the Univeristy of Arizona, Short is equally as adept at breaking up routes as he is stuffing the run. And as Greg Biggins from Scout.com so aptly put it, "he's one of those players who loves to go for the kill shot and if you're a receiver/tight end going across the middle, you need to always keep your head on a swivel with Short near by."
Guess it was a good thing for JJ they didn't go full pads during this shoot. Like we said, watch out.
