MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday re-assigned rookie guard Malcolm Lee to the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League. Lee is expected to play Thursday as Sioux Falls plays host to Bakersfield.
Lee appeared in three games for the Skyforce in his first stint with Sioux Falls, averaging 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 25.3 minutes.
Acquired on draft night from the Chicago Bulls, Lee has yet to appear in a regular-season game for the Wolves after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on Dec. 30.
Per NBA rules, a first- or second-year player can be assigned to the team's D-League affiliate a maximum of three times in a season.
