
Willet rallies for win at Aqueduct's $100K Interborough Stakes

Willet rallied from fifth to win the $100,000 Interborough Stakes for fillies and mares on Saturday at Aqueduct.
The 2-1 favorite angled four wide at the top of the stretch and kicked into gear for Irad Ortiz, Jr. to beat Aireofdistinction by 1 1-2 lengths. The 7-year-old owned and trained by Jimmy Iselin got her ninth win in 23 starts.
The time was 1:10.65 for six furlongs on the fast track.
Willet paid $6.30, $3.30 and $2.10. Aireofdistinction returned $3.90 and $2.80 while Expression paid $2.70 to show.
