Wild recall Folin with Spurgeon out after taking puck to face

An errant puck is going to cost Minnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon at least one game.
Minnesota head coach Mike Yeo said Spurgeon will not play Friday at Edmonton after Spurgeon took a puck to the face during Wednesday's overtime win at Calgary. The Wild recalled defenseman Christian Folin from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League on Friday to help fill in for Spurgeon.
Stu Bickel was reassigned to Iowa in a corresponding move. Bickel was recalled Feb. 10 but didn't play. He has one assists and is third on the team with 46 penalty minutes in nine games with Minnesota this season.
Folin, 24, has one goal, five assists in 29 games with Minnesota this season, averaging 15 minutes, 2 seconds of ice time. Folin has two goals and two assists in 12 games with Iowa this season.
Spurgeon played only 1:26 in Wednesday's game after being injured in the first period, leaving the Wild with just five defensemen the rest of the game. Speaking Thursday, Yeo didn't have much of an update on Spurgeon, only saying he would miss Friday's game with an upper-body injury.
