WATCH: Roger Federer rescues young boy from crowd, rewards him with autograph
Roger Federer is one of the greatest tennis players on the courts at the U.S. Open, but it looks like he is also an outstanding person away from the action.
On Monday, after defeating John Isner in straight sets in the fourth round of the tournament, Federer stopped to sign some autographs on his way off the court. The autograph session quickly came to a halt when the crowd in the stands rushed toward Federer, crushing a little boy at the end of a row close to Federer.
Federer noticed the child and asked security to pull him out of the crowd. While security attempted to tame the rest of the fans, Federer comforted the young boy and signed his hat and tennis ball.
Federer might be seeking his 18th Grand Slam title on the court, but he has already won over many hearts off of it. What a guy.
