Wake Forest sends recruits Photoshopped People covers with Kim Kardashian & Selena Gomez
Celebrity sells -- not just on TV and in the supermarket aisles, but apparently in the competitive world of college football recruiting as well.
On Tuesday, a pair of three-star recruits from Raleigh, N.C., posted Photoshopped People magazine covers that Wake Forest sent them in hopes of luring the players to their campus. It's a move out of Tennessee's playbook: A few weeks ago, the Volunteers sent Shy Tuttle a Rolling Stone cover showing him walking side by side with Beyonce.
The Demon Deacons (1-2) brought out the heavy artillery — a black-and-gold-clad Kim Kardashian — for defensive end Kengera Daniel. Not only does Daniel get his arm around Kardashian and a hand (his or otherwise) on her shoulder, the recruiting department also offered the catchy nickname "KimGera" for the duo's partnership.

Judging from the tears of joy and clapping emoticons Daniel posted, the gimmick appears to be working. Or maybe it was the rest of the flattery on the mocked-up People cover ("Why Kengera will be the next Calvin Pace"), I don't know.
Daniel's Millbrook teammate Marcus Marshall, a running back, enjoyed a cover of his own with Selena Gomez.

With Rolling Stone and People now taken, this could get out of hand quickly. We're only a couple weeks away from Rutgers sending recruits OK! Magazine covers with Lindsay Lohan.
