INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- An MRI taken on the hyperextended left knee of Cavaliers guard Dion Waiters revealed no serious damage, acting general manager David Griffin said Thursday.
Waiters injured the knee following a dunk in Tuesday's win at Philadelphia. He missed the second half of that game and sat out Wednesday's win over Orlando.
Waiters, center Anderson Varejao (sore back) and C.J. Miles (sprained ankle) did not travel to Toronto for Friday's game vs. the Raptors. All three will remain in Cleveland for treatment, and a Cavs spokesman indicated none of the injuries are serious. Each is listed as day-to-day.
The Cavs (22-33) have won six straight and acquired center Spencer Hawes for forward Earl Clark, center Henry Sims and two 2014 second-round draft picks Thursday. Hawes flew to Toronto to be with the rest of the Cavs, Griffin said.
