Vikings' cuts include few players of note

The Minnesota Vikings had until Monday afternoon to trim their roster from 90 to 75 players, but they got an early jump on the cutdown by releasing 15 players Saturday afternoon.

Of the 15 cuts, 11 were undrafted rookies. Of the four players with previous NFL experience, only one -- wide receiver Kerry Taylor -- was with the team last season, and that was as a practice squad player.

One other player of note who was released was defensive end Anthony Jacobs, who played college football for the University of Minnesota.

The other 13 players released, in alphabetical order, were: guard Bridger Buche, running back Derrick Coleman, guard Grant Cook, linebacker Solomon Elimimian, defensive back Corey Greenwood, offensive tackle Levi Horn, wide receiver Kamar Jorden, wide receiver A.J. Love, linebacker Tyler Nielsen, defensive end Ernest Owusu, defensive tackle Tydreke Powell, cornerback Chris Stroud and wide receiver Bryan Walters.

The team must trim its roster from 75 players to 53 by Friday evening, one day after its preseason finale against the Houston Texans.
