USC's Corral named Player of the Week

USC junior guard Ashley Corral put forth a gutsy performance for the Trojans over the weekend at the Women of Troy Basketball Tournament and has earned her second career pick as the Pac-10 Player of the Week. It's the first such honor for her this season, and the third overall for USC, marking the first time since 1996-97 that the Trojans have had more than two Player of the Week honors in a single season.

To lock down this week's honors, Corral had game-high scoring outings in back-to-back games to help the Trojans stay undefeated at home with two wins at the Women of Troy Basketball Classic. Named to the All-Tournament Team, Corral coupled 14 points against future conference-mate Colorado with a team-high seven rebounds as USC beat the Buffs 68-54.
