USA Diving to again hold its Olympic trials in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The U.S. Olympic diving team will again be selected in Indianapolis.

USA Diving announced Wednesday that it will hold the 2020 Olympic trials in its home city, making it the seventh time Indianapolis has been the host. The event will take place June 13-21 at the newly renovated natatorium on the IUPUI campus.

The 2016 trials also were held in Indianapolis, which hosted in 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2008 as well.

In addition, as part of a three-year commitment, USA Diving awarded the 2019 senior national championships and 2021 junior national championships to Indianapolis.

The U.S. Olympic team will likely be led by David Boudia, who passed up retirement for the chance to compete at his fourth Olympics. He was the 2012 platform champion and had four medals overall, including a silver and a bronze from Rio de Janeiro.
