ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- UCF receiver Breshad Perriman was carted off the field on a stretcher after a hard hit over the middle early in the fourth quarter of the 19th-ranked Knights' game with Houston.
The sophomore was trying to catch a pass over the middle from quarterback Blake Bortles when he was struck in the chest by Houston cornerback Zach McMillian with 12:52 to play in the game the UCF leading 13-7.
McMillian was flagged for targeting on the play and ejected. McMillian attempted to return to the field minutes later in street clothes, but was ordered off the field by referees.
