“The race felt alright,” Lalang said. “It went the way I wanted it to. I wanted to go for it from the gun and that’s what I did. (Yesterday’s 10K) felt alright, at first the plan was to go slow but after going over it, I felt I was in really good shape to go fast and that’s what I did. It felt good.”

“I felt really good, it was a fun meet,” Rivera-Morales said. “It was a tough meet, overall but I’m happy because  this is my last year and it was my first title so it was a really good way to finish.”

Senior Georganne Moline earned a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 54.54. That time is No. 2 in the world this year. The quartet of freshman Traci-Lynn Hicks, Romero, Pridgett and Poston finished in fifth place in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 45.28, adding four points to the women’s total. The men’s 4x100-meter relay team consisting of sophomore Thomas Moronta, Dickerson-Quinn, sophomore Mohammad Alhasan and Delfani finished in seventh place with a time of 41.28.

“I’m extremely pleased,” head coach Fred Harvey said. “There’s a sense of a let-down within my heart because I really wanted to win. I felt we really had an opportunity to do so if they made mistakes. We had the meet of a lifetime for our team, we were one point shy of what I thought we could score. It’s a little bittersweet but we fought, it’s Oregon and we had them on the ropes. We’re continuing to grow, we have good, young talent and we’re going to continue to be that force that people look at. Overall, happy with what we did, we did pretty much what I thought we would do and when you can leave a meet saying that, I think you’ve had a good two days.”
