MINNEAPOLIS -- They do tabulate assists in both baseball and basketball.
Minnesota's major league franchise decided to lend a helping hand to its WNBA neighbor from across the street in advance of Friday's playoff opener. The Minnesota Twins purchased 500 upper-bowl tickets for the Lynx's Game 1 matchup against Seattle.
Starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, fans could call a phone number and receive a pair of them, free of charge. Within an hour, they were gone.
Upper-level seats aren't normally open for regular-season Lynx games.
The Twins play at 9:05 p.m. in Friday night in Oakland. The Lynx begin their best-of-three Western Conference semifinal series at 8 p.m., travel to Seattle for a Sunday game then come back to the Target Center on Tuesday if necessary.
