Torn biceps made former lineman's arm look like slab of beef
In 2002, New York Giants center Chris Bober suffered a biceps tendon tear in his left arm when another player kicked his arm (unintentionally, it sounds from the account). As a result, Bober's arm swelled up into a horrible mess of blood and bruising.

The injury occured during the second quarter and Bober actually played through the pain. Here's a bit of the aftermath as told by Football By Football, a new website that features stories told by players themselves:
The MRI only revealed a partial tear and Bober only ended up missing a game, but his arm nevertheless looked like it had been turned inside out.
Go read the rest of the story, which includes pieces on former Patriots linebacker Matt Chatham's "Bennett" fracture and Packers linebacker Brady Poppinga's torn ACL. What a gloomy way to end a post. Sorry.
