INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) -- Andrew Wiggins has someone to show him the NBA's ropes. His father, Mitchell, knows the pitfalls of pro ball and stardom.

The younger Wiggins, selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, was introduced Friday by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who believe the slender small forward can help get them back to respectability. As Wiggins was presented with his new No. 21 jersey, his dad smiled proudly from the front row.

For Mitchell Wiggins, his son's arrival presents a second chance in the league after his own career ended in a blur of cocaine abuse and suspensions. Wiggins said seeing his son begin with the Cavs "gives me closure, and I'm ready to let go of some of the things when I left the league."

The Cavs chose Wiggins over Duke's Jabari Parker, who was picked second by Milwaukee.
